Our Baby Girl is *5* Months Old!

Our little Emma Reese is now FIVE months old! It is hard to believe because it seems as if the time has just flown by. Throughout the past month Miss Emma has changed drastically and has achieved all of the ages and stages developmental milestones for the five month mark along with most of the developmental milestones for the six month mark! She is doing fantastic and is developmentally very advanced for her age. Issac and I could not be more proud! Emma has changed our lives forever and has brought Issac and I so much closer as family. There is so much love between the two of us and we are so incredibly thankful to be able to share that love with our sweet little Emma Reese. Here are a handful of the many changes she has made throughout the course of this past month...

-Able to sit up by herself which is quite rare for a baby of her age. Typically babies do not sit up by themselves until 6-7 months so doing so BEFORE five months is quite and accomplishment.
-Can hold her bottle for an entire feeding though she often decides to be lazy and opts out of it.
-Though I lay her down on her back at night she now immediately rolls over onto her belly, puts her butt in the air, and falls asleep in that position.
-Absolutely fascinated by her feet and is now doing everything in her power to get them into her mouth.
-We have begun giving her water out of a sippy cup and she is now picking it up and attempting to drink from it without any assistance.
-Rolls EVERYWHERE and does so very quickly and with complete ease.
-Recognizes and responds to her name.
-Understands what pointing means. When an object is pointed to she scans the room until she sees what you are trying to show her. Once she finds the person or object she locks her eyes onto it.
-Laughs real, "Big girl" (hahahaha) laughs rather than the silly baby laughs.
-Loves animals small and large. I have taken her down to the equestrian facility that my family owns and introduced her all of the horses. Even upon seeing a horse up close for the first time she showed no fear. Instead she simply responded by smiling, laughing, and reaching out for the horses nose.
-Blocks are now Emma's favorite thing to play with.
-Loves anything with buttons and has gotten very proficient at pressing them.
-Sleeps through the night almost every night. Her bedtime is at 8:00pm and she typically sleeps until about 7:00am. I keep her on a strict schedule and a consistent routine which has really helped with her sleeping habits.
-Is now able to tuck her knees under her stomach and is even able to push herself up onto all fours on occasion. Once she masters this milestone crawling will be just around the corner!

We love you so much Emma and are so proud of everything you have achieved! You are such a blessing and bring nothing but joy to our lives. Mommy and Daddy love you more than anything on this earth and cannot wait to see who you become. We know you will be great!
