This past weekend Emma and I headed down to the coast where my father resides for a few days filled with family, fun, and of course lots of water! Though the beach was gorgeous as always, it was just a bit too hot and there were far too many mosquitoes to spend a lot of time outdoors. We were able swim in my Dad's swimming pool but never made it to the actual beach. As always my little water baby had a blast swimming and swam until her little hands and feet had turned into raisins. Hopefully as it cools down there will be fewer mosquitoes so that Emma and I can spend all of our time outdoors when we make the weekend beach trips! Despite the fact that Emma and I never made it to the beach, we still had a great time! Grandad got to spend TONS of time with his precious Gran baby and Emma was able to finally meet Aunt Amy and Aunt Hayley for the very first time. Below is a picture of Emma and Aunt Hayley playing on the living room floor.
Along with meeting her Aunts, Emma and I were both able to meet the exchange student that is living with my Dad and his family this year. Her name is Jule, pronounced
Ul-a, and she is 15 years old and from Northern Germany. I must say, she is
likely the most mature, responsible, well rounded teenager I have ever met. I was incredibly impressed with her to say the least. She too loved little Miss Emma (just as everyone always does) which of course made me like her even more. A weekend at the coast with my Dad and sisters is always a great time and I am looking
forward to spending many weekends at the coast during the course of this deployment. What a wonderful opportunity we have to ensure that Emma
develops a close bond with her Grandad and Aunts who love and adore her so much!
