Today Issac and I took Emma to her two month appointment at her pediatricians office. She has grown to a whopping 23.5 inches in length and weighs 13.3 lbs!! My BIG baby girl!!!! A two month check-up also means a lot of vaccines! She recieved a total of 6 vaccines comprised into three shots and one which was given orally. I was a wreck and had to have Issac hold her while she was administered the shots. She took the first one pretty well but by the second one was screaming like she has never screamed before! Issac and I both felt horrible! Though it was extremely difficult to watch, I know these vaccines are very important and are for her own good. I refuse to ever be one of those parents who believes that their child is in more danger getting a vaccine than being susceptible to diseases such as Polio and Hepatitis. After the pediatricians we took Emma home and settled her back into our normal routine so that I could get her down for a nap. She went down for the nap rather easilly but woke up an hour later in very obvious distress. No matter what I did she was upset and screaming, totally uncharacteristic of Emma who is typiclly a very laid back baby. I checked her temperature and it was slighlt elevated which led me to believe that the vaccines had made her fall ill for the day. Poor baby girl. She cried her little eyes out for about 3 hours! All I could do was hold her which made me feel so helpless! Watching my baby suffer has got to be one of the most disheartening things I have ever experienced. After several hours of having a crying and completely inconsolable baby I decided to take her upstairs, tuck her into our big comfy bed (which has a 42'' tv at the foot of it), and put on Toy Story in hopes of providing her with some relief. She finally relaxed and watched the movie for about thirty minutes.

After relaxing in front of Toy Story for a little bit, Emma FINALLY drifted off into the much needed deep sleep that her tiny body had been craving all day! She is still feeling a bit ill and still cries when I pick her up but appears to be doing much better. My husband and I are so thankful to have a healthy, happy baby. Goodnight princess! We hope you feel better in the morning!!
