It is true, Emma is now *6* months old, half way to the one year mark and we could not be happier! She is an absolute joy and has greatly enriched our lives more than we could have ever imagined. This past month has been FULL of changes along with the achievement of several key developmental milestones! Emma is just amazing and we are completely in awe of how advanced she is for her age. Here are just a handful of the changes and progress that she has made throughout the course of this past month...- She has now eaten most of the fruits and vegetables available in the produce department and will soon be moving on to protein. We will likely start with tofu and then work our way up to white meat.
- Able to feed herself finger foods like a big girl.
- Can get up into the crawl position and has been attempting to take steps.
- Can scoot (much like an inch worm) to get where she wants and is able to rotate her body 360 degrees when playing on her tummy.
- Vocal skills have drastically improved and she is imitating speech patterns. She even says "Dada" and will copy you when you say it to her.
- Has outgrown her infant tub and now takes her baths in the sink. She loves being able to sit up and play with her toys while she takes her bath each morning.
- Easily fits into all of her 6-9 month clothing and has outgrown most of her 0-6 month socks. She is also almost wearing a size 2 in shoes.
- Though I limit her television, when she does get to watch it her favorite shows are Kai-Lan and The Fresh Beat Band.
- Can stand by herself as long as she has something to hold onto and can do it with ease.
- Has gotten much better at her "Assisted Walking" and now understands the concept of taking steps in order to get where she wants. Everyone is sure that she is going to be a VERY early walker because she always wants to be on her feet and is very good at taking steps at such an early age.
- Sitting up has become second nature and she now does it with complete ease. She has now been sitting up solo for a little over a month! Very impressive!
- Loves to play with her feet and enjoys putting them in her mouth.
- Gives the SWEETEST little monkey hugs and is now attempting to give kisses!! My heart just MELTS every time that sweet little girl wraps her arms around my shoulder and squeezes tight!
As you can see Emma has accomplished quite a bit this month. Issac and I could not be more proud of her and of everything she has achieved at such an early age. She is a wonderful baby and we are BEYOND blessed to have her in our lives! We love you Emma-Bear and are exited to watch you grow and prosper over the next six months of your life. Happy half birthday princess!
