Holding a Bottle

In one of my previous blogs I discussed how Emma has been attempting to hold her own bottle. She has been doing this for several weeks and has progressively been getting much better at it. Yesterday while I was feeding Emma her 3:00 bottle she wrapped her little hands around it, as she always does, only this time she did not let go of it for the entire feeding! At one point I decided to let go of the bottle just to see how she would do. She did amazing! She held her bottle by herself for about a minute strait. She then proceeded to gently remove the bottle from her mouth (rather than throwing it and becoming angry) and raise it up and place it back into her mouth as soon as she was ready for more. I was absolutely shocked! Holding a bottle on her own will be a great skill to master because it will make my life much easier. As much as I adore spending time with my little Emma, she sometimes decides that she wants to eat at the most inconvenient of times! It will be fantastic when I can just hand her the bottle and let her take care of business. What a grown up my little Emma is quickly becoming!
